Saulux is a series of interactive kinetic sculptures that transform the invisible impulses of wind into symphonies of light and sound. Saulux series explores the poetic potential of environmental data, offering a sensory expansion into our relationships with nature through the expression of technological art.
For i Light Singapore SPLACES.STUDIO created a new version of the sculpture that acts as a generative musical instrument. Each visitor can interact with it to create their own musical composition. The sculpture is composed of eight modular sections, each reacting to the movement with a unique audiovisual character. Wind, vibrations, or human touch activate waves of sound and light that ripple through its structure. At the heart of Saulux is a generative composition system based on the Lydian pentatonic scale. Each section resonates with five tones in its own octave and key, creating a layered musical experience that shifts with every stir. Installed in the urban landscape of Singapore, the sculpture invites passersby to experience the wind not as a distant element, but as something to be felt, heard, and interacted with.
